Back in 1946, you couldn’t find the premium, wholesome bread that we love today. That is, until Catherine Clark came along and changed that. She believed in a better loaf of bread. Not those sad, nutritionless slices—nothing more than a vehicle for peanut butter—but a hearty, feel-good experience with awesome flavor and texture. Bread that you’d want to bake if you had the time to make home-baked bread. She got herself an oven, a mixer, a second-hand delivery truck, and an old grocery store; and she rolled up her sleeves. Catherine used freshly milled wheat and an old Wisconsin recipe passed down through generations. Batch by batch, her good, old-fashioned wheat bread came out of the oven looking “brown as a berry.” It was so good, her friends urged her to sell rather than give it away for free. Brownberry® Ovens was founded, and bread was changed forever. Today, though Catherine no longer makes it herself, Brownberry® is still committed to bringing you awesomely delicious and nutritious bread you can believe in— so you can live your life and love your loaf.
